Dover, Del. - Saint Francis women's soccer earned their second conference win of the season with a 3-0 win over Delaware State on Sunday afternoon. Â
Saint Francis now has six points in conference play.Â
"This was a really strong performance from our team and great bounce back result." Head Coach Brian Diaz said. "It was great to have Raine and Dani open their accounts as well. It was a solid 90 minute performance from the team to get the full three points on the road."
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

TURNING POINT OF THE GAME
Pyle finally broke the scoreless deadlock with a goal in the 69th minute of the match. Korpics would double the Red Flash lead just four minutes later.Â
Goedhart netted a goal with 46 seconds left in the match to cap off a strong second half for Saint Francis.Â
"There were so many great individual performances including Emma and Aimee combining for the shutout." Diaz said. "Our back line did a fantastic job keeping their forwards out of the net."
HOW IT HAPPENED
Korpics had back-to-back chances to put the Red Flash in front in the sixth minute, but both shots were saved.Â
Korpics would have another go at goal in the 13th minute and was denied again.Â
Maridza Desir fired a shot on frame in the 19th minute but could not convert the chance.Â
Anika Berger nearly netted her first goal as a member of the Red Flash in the 38th minute but her shot was saved by the keeper.Â
Saint Francis totaled 12 shots in the opening period.Â
Mercedez Paino and Desir had chances to net the opener just after the 50 minute mark, but neither could bury their chance.Â
Pyle finally found the breakthrough in the 69th minute to give the Red Flash a relatively late lead. Korpics capitalized on the momentum and scored with help from a Dziesiaty feed.Â
Dziesiaty tried to make it a goal and an assist in the 82nd minute with a shot on goal, but was denied.Â
Ratchford connected with Goedhart for a very late goal to make it 3-0 Saint Francis.Â
"Overall" it was a really good performance from the team." Diaz said. "I'm proud of the direction of this special group."
FLASH NUGGETS
Pyle now sits one goal away from 10 career goals after her score today. She also hit the 30-point milestone with the goal.Â
Ratchford recorded the first point of her career with her assist.Â
Goedhart posted her first goal since Aug. 22, 2021. Â
Dziesiaty is now just three points away from 25 career points after recording an assist in the match.
Benton recorded her second career win in the match. Her record as a goalkeeper is 2-2-2.Â
Korpics eclipsed the 10 career point mark with her goal. She currently sits at 11 career points.
