Women's Water Polo to Play in VMI Invite

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
>> Women's water polo is playing in four matches in the VMI Invite, including against Mount St. Mary's, Austin, Gannon and Toronto.

>> All four games will be streamed on ESPN+.

THE WORD ON MOUNT ST. MARY'S
Mount St. Mary's is 3-1 this season after defeating Gannon, Iona and Mercyhurst at Villanova last weekend.

Anna Kegel leads the Mountaineers with eight goals. Olivia Fernie leads the team with 28 saves.


LAST TIME WE MET THE MOUNTAINEERS
In last year's Bucknell Invitational, Saint Francis fell 13-9 to the Mount.

Caylah Olay tallied four goals in the loss with Sam Eschleman scoring three.


THE WORD ON AUSTIN
Our match against Austin will open the 'Roos season.

Austin finished the 2023-24 season 8-13, falling to Augustana in the Collegiate Water Polo Association's DIII Championships.


LAST TIME WE MET THE 'ROOS
The Red Flash are 1-0 against the 'Roos, having faced them in 2022.

Grace Raquel recorded 13 saves in the 13-7 win.


THE WORD ON GANNON
Gannon is 0-4 this season, dropping games to Iona, Mercyhurst, Mount St. Mary's and Villanova at the Wildcat Invite.

Molly Fehr leads the team with nine goals. Molly Sebunia leads goalies in saves with 26 saves.


LAST TIME WE MET THE GOLDEN KNIGHTS
The Red Flash are 5-2 against the Golden Knights, winning the last five meetings.

In 2022, Saint Francis defeated Gannon 13-11.

Kayla Rhoads scored two goals. Grace Raquel tallied five saves.


THE WORD ON TORONTO
The Varsity Blues are currently 13-0, defeating Queen's University 21-2 in their most recent match.

Top players for Toronto include Hannah Levin, Devon Lynch and Hana Truchla.


LAST TIME WE MET THE VARSITY BLUES
Saint Francis defeated Toronto 11-8 last season.

Isabel Lumley and Grace Raquel earned a combined 12 saves.


LAST TIME OUT
The Red Flash defeated La Salle 17-9 in its final match of the Princeton Invite.

Sofia Maioriello led the team in four goals and three assists. Isabel Lumley and Grace Raquel combined for nine saves. Georgia Ellison, Breeze Ohlson and Lucia Redaelli each tallied a block.

Adi Garges and Breeze Ohlson were named to the Collegiate Water Polo Association Honor Roll.
