Red Flash 10: Home Highlight on Aidan Cirulli

Cirulli Home Highlight

Football | 10/22/2025 1:05:00 PM

LORETTO, Pa. – Saint Francis punter Aidan Cirulli is making his mark in 2025, continuing to rise among the Red Flash record books while ranking among the nation's best. This season, Cirulli has booted 40 punts for 1,731 yards, averaging over 43 yards per punt with a season-long of 61 yards and eight punts pinned inside the 20-yard line.

Nationally, Cirulli ranks fourth in the FCS in total punting yards and 20th in punting average, underscoring his consistency and impact. He recently became the sixth punter in Saint Francis history to surpass 6,000 career punting yards, moving into fifth place on the program's all-time list, and is on pace to challenge the career record in punting average.

Cirulli has been a model of precision and reliability throughout his Red Flash career, highlighted by a season-long 69-yard punt at Eastern Michigan last year and multiple 50-plus-yard punts during the 2024 campaign.

This week's Home Highlight features Redshirt Senior Aidan Cirulli, who sits down for Red Flash 10 to share the stories, faith, and goals that drive his game on and off the field.

Red Flash 10 with Aidan Cirulli

Q1. Who has had the greatest impact on your life, and in what ways have they influenced who you are today?

The person who's had the biggest impact on my life is my mom. She's the one who introduced me to God, and that relationship has shaped everything I do. I really look to Him for guidance in every part of my life—on the field, in school, and off the field. My mom and I lean on each other constantly, but so much of the wisdom I carry comes from the faith she helped me build. She's not just influenced the athlete I am, but the person I strive to be every single day.

Q2. Do you have a pregame ritual or superstition, and how did it start?

I like to make sure I'm in the right mindset before every game. On the ride to away games, I read the Bible, and when it's a home game, I keep it in my backpack. I read it before stretching on the field, and during warmups, I play white noise to stay present and focused in the moment.

Q3. If you had to sum up your playing style in three words, which ones would you choose—and why?

Collective, fiery, and unique. I don't show a lot of emotion out there, but after I punt, I channel that fire to get downfield and make a play. God has gifted me with athleticism, and I want to show that I'm more than just a punter every time I step on the field.

Q4. What's a life lesson football has taught you that you carry beyond the field?

Football has taught me to be grateful no matter what. Tomorrow isn't promised, life isn't guaranteed, and I thank God every day that we have each other and that we get to do what we love. It's about appreciating the blessings in front of us.

Q5. What do you miss most about home when you're at school?

I miss my mom and my little brother the most. I even got to see my younger brother play in a varsity football game during the bye week, which was awesome. My family is so close-knit, and I miss the feeling of being around them every day. I also miss my dog—just being home always feels right.

Q6. What's one bucket-list item you hope to cross off in the next few years and why?

I'd love to visit Italy and see my great-grandmother and grandfather's hometown on my dad's side. Crossing the Atlantic and experiencing my family's roots has always been something I want to do.

Q7. Who's the funniest or most entertaining teammate in the locker room, and what makes them unforgettable?

That's got to be Paul Wedel. He completely changed the energy of the punter group—it went from quiet to full of jokes, dancing, and good vibes. He's just a blast to be around, and it makes every practice and game that much better.

Q8. Thinking back, what's one of your favorite memories on the field with the Red Flash so far?

It's got to be the first time Mac Plummer and I went out for a field goal against Western Michigan. We've been through so many ups and downs, and it felt surreal to celebrate that moment as the holder. Being kicker and punter together, starting the same year, living together—it's something I'll never forget.

Q9. Is there a song you always have on your game-day playlist? What makes it your go-to track?

"All That Is Hidden" from the album Restless is the Heart. It gives me peace and keeps my energy right—perfect for staying focused before the game.

Q10. You're sitting in the top five in program history and among the FCS leaders this year—what's the next big goal you've got your eyes on?

God willing, I'd love to finish my career at the top of the St. Francis record books. I know this opportunity won't come around again, so I'm planning to declare for the draft, schedule workouts and pro days, and get an agent. My goal is to show what I can do at the next level.
