Red Flash Field Hockey Tops Lock Haven 4-1

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
>>The Saint Francis Red Flash field hockey team win its ninth game of the year after a 4-1 decision at Lock Haven in non-conference action on Sunday.
>> Madilyn Donmoyer records first collegiate point in the match.
>> Red Flash winning streak continues to six straight games.

TURNING POINT OF THE GAME
Saint Francis struck first in today's match, thanks in part to reigning NEC Defensive Player of the Year Madison Waldspurger, who was able to blast one past the Bald Eagles' goaltender to put the Red Flash up 1-0 early in the first 15 minutes.

FLASH MOMENTS
Senior defense Emilee Myers recorded her fourth goal of the year early in the second quarter, giving Saint Francis some breathing room with the lead heading into halftime 2-0.

Junior midfielder Brooklyn Widdess extended the Red Flash's lead in the early minutes after halftime, recording just her record goal of the year off the assist from freshman Gianna Lambert to put Saint Francis in the driver's seat 3-0.

Lambert continued to put herself on the scoresheet, snipping in her second goal of the year, thanks in part to the helper from Donmoyer.

FLASH NUGGETS

Junior goalkeeper Mia DiGenova picked up yet another win on her already impressive resume this season. Only allowing one goal in today's game further helped the Red Flash extend their winning streak to six straight games.

With Donmoyer's assist today, the sophomore defense finally gets on the scoresheet and records her first collegiate assist and point in her career in Lock Haven.

Saint Francis did not allow a goal for 290 consecutive shutout minutes spanning six games. The streak began with 1:27 left in its game against LIU on September 19. After shutouts against Saint Louis (September 21), Stonehill (September 26), Merrimack (September 28), and Wagner (October 3), the streak ended 48:34 into the game on Sunday against Lock Haven.

NEXT ON TAP
The Saint Francis Red Flash hits the road again next weekend as they travel to Rider University in Lawrence Township, NJ, for a match-up slated at 7 pm.
