TURNING POINT OF THE GAME
After a competitive first half with both the Red Flash and the Seahawks tied, Wagner snuck one into the cage with under five minutes remaining in the third quarter, giving Saint Francis a 1-0 deficit.

While the Red Flash could not find itself on the score sheet in this affair, they were still able to record five total shots. Freshman midfielder Addie Sholly recorded the most with two, while junior forward T Ciaccia, senior defender Chloe Butz, and sophomore midfielder Sofia Marciano all recorded one.
FLASH NUGGETS
DiGenova finishes the season having only allowed a goal in eight of her 19 games starting in net. With the three saves she made today, the junior netminder ended the season with 81 total saves.Â
This marks the first time since the 2023 season that the Red Flash have competed in the NEC playoffs. Since its first season in 2001, Saint Francis has played in eight playoff tournaments, including six NEC appearances in 2007, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2022, and 2023. Additionally, after leaving the NEC in 2012, the team made two appearances in the Atlantic-10 playoffs (2014 and 2016).
Senior Madison Waldspurger finished her standout career with 17 goals and 15 assists for 49 points to finish her career in the program's Top-10 in points. The senior is an All-NEC three-time performer after earning second-team honors in 2023 and first-team distinction the last two years.
DiGenova was the Cornerstone of the Red Flash field hockey team, creating a streak of 290 consecutive shutout minutes, which helped her reach the historic milestone of nine shutouts in a season, earning her the program record for most shutouts in a single season. Outside of the streak, she allowed only 26 goals in 19 games, resulting in a 1.37 goals against average and a .757 save percentage, which placed her in the top 25 of all goalies in NCAA Division I.Â
Marciano was one of the most dangerous offensive players on the field this season for the Red Flash. Overall, she finished the 2025 season with 19 goals and two assists, ranking her as one of the best scorers in the nation and ranking second in single season program history in goals and points (40), while also moving into the all-time career charts for goals and points..Sophomore midfielder Cruz Cánepa set a program record for assists with 17 helpers.
The game marked the final collegiate games for Waldspurger, Chloe Butz, Emilee Myers and Grace Reed.
