Shelby Ricks, a member of the Saint Francis women's basketball team, has been named an NEC Prime Performer for the week of December 15-21. The graduate assistant earned the honor for the second week in a row and the third time this season.

Ricks averaged 12.5 points and 11.0 rebounds per game after registering a double-double in both games this week. The graduate student posted 11 points and 12 rebounds against Pitt on Thursday, the 12 rebounds were one shy of her career high. She then posted 14 points and 10 rebounds against Fordham on Sunday to notch back-to-back double-doubles for the first time in her career. She now has three double-doubles this season and four for her career. Ricks also scored 10+ points in three straight games for the second time this season. 

Ricks ranks third in the league with three double-doubles, eighth in rebounding (6.3 rpg.), and 10th in scoring (10.9 ppg.). 

Ricks now leads the team with three Prime Performers, receiving recognition on November 17, December 14, and December 21, while Aleah James (November 10, December 14) and Sonia Sato (November 24) have also been honored by the league.
Saint Francis, who wrapped up non-conference play at Fordham, has 12 days off to celebrate Christmas and New Year's and prepare for the 18-game league play. The Red Flash opens NEC play at Le Moyne on January 2. Game time is 6 p.m.
