Skylar Wicks, a member of the Saint Francis men's basketball team, has been named an NEC Prime Performer for the week of December 15-22. It marks the sixth time in seven weeks the redshirt senior has garnered the recognition.

Wicks averaged 20.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game in the final two games of non-conference for the Red Flash. The redshirt senior posted 22 points against No. 23 Florida on Wednesday and then registered 19 points, eight rebounds, four assists and two steals in the annual tussle with Robert Morris on Saturday. Wicks shot 45.0 percent from the floor (18-for-40), 27.3 percent from behind the arc (3-for-11) and 100 percent from the free throw line after hitting both at the free throw line. Wicks has scored at least 19 points in five of the last six games he has played with three 20-point performances. 

He ranks second in the NEC in scoring (19.1 ppg.), second in minutes played (33.2), fourth in rebounding (7.4), fourth in 3-pointers made (2.3), seventh in steals (1.5) and 10th in field goal percentage (42.9). In the nation, Wicks is 50th in scoring, 51st in defensive rebounds per game (5.91) and 85th in minutes played. 

Freshman Paris Papadatos was named the NEC Rookie of the Week for the week of December 1-7 after scoring 19 points against Penn State Shenango on December 3 and 15 points at Radford on December 7.

Along with Wicks, redshirt senior Zion Russell is the only other player on the team to earn NEC Prime Performer for his performance in the second week of the season. The week that Russell took home the award was the only time Wicks was not honored.

After its game against Robert Morris on December 20, Saint Francis has a 13-day break to celebrate Christmas and the New Year before starting its defense of its NEC Tournament title. The Red Flash opens the league slate at home against Le Moyne on Friday, January 2 at 7 p.m.
