LORETTO, Pa. – Saint Francis had 139 student-athletes named to the Northeast Conference (NEC) Fall Academic Honor Roll, announced by the league on Friday. The student-athletes named to the Academic Honor Roll had a 3.20 grade point average or better, while 61 registered a 3.75 grade point average or better to earn NEC Commissioner's Honor Roll status for boasting a 3.75 grade point average or better.

Women's cross country had 94.4 percent of its roster named to the NEC Academic Honor Roll, with 72.2 percent selected to the NEC Comissioner's Honor Roll. Women's soccer (88.0 percent), women's volleyball (80.0 percent), field hockey (79.2 percent), and men's soccer (77.4 percent) also had 75 percent of its roster garner Academic Honor Roll status. Both women's soccer and women's volleyball each had 40.0 percent of their roster reach the Commissioner's Honor Roll honors, while men's soccer had 38.7 percent reach that status.

By just numbers, football led the fall teams with 29 student-athletes named to the Academic Honor Roll, followed by men's soccer (24), women's soccer (22), field hockey (19), women's cross country (17), women's volleyball (16) and men's cross country (12).

In addition, field hockey player Dolores Zavaleta (San Juan, Argentina) and women's volleyball player Korrin Burns (Clarion, Pa.) received NEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year recognition for their sports. Zaveleta is the first field hockey player, and Burns joins Anne Roosevelt (2006-07) as the only two women's volleyball players in school history to garner the recognition.

Saint Francis is the only NEC school to have earned an NEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year every year since the award's inception in 2003-04, winning 82 honors in that span. Last year, the Red Flash had four student-athletes named Scholar Athletes.

Saint Francis had 383 recognitions for the 2023-24 season after 134 in the fall and 104 in the winter. In addition, Saint Francis had 177 nods for the Commissioner's Honor Roll (71 fall, 50 winter, 56 spring).
