Women's Basketball Falls In NEC Quarterfinals To Le Moyne

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
>> Saint Francis University Women's Basketball dropped their NEC Quarterfinal matchup to Le Moyne on Monday night, 62-51.
>> Airah Lavy led the Red Flash in scoring on the night with 12 points. All of Lavy's points came from her four three-point field goals in the game.
>> Natalie Johnson grabbed a team-best five rebounds while adding 10 points of her own.
>> Eli Clark paced Le Moyne offensively with a game-high 14 points

TURNING POINT OF THE GAME

After a back-and-forth first half, Saint Francis went on a 9-2 run in the back end of the third quarter. Lavy drained three three-pointers in a span of 2:39.

Le Moyne rallied back in the final period, scoring 23 points in the quarter.

FLASH MOMENTS
Ineivi Plata helped the Red Flash jump out to a 7-2 lead early on with a three-pointer followed by a transition layup where the freshman went end-to-end.

The Red Flash trailed by two in the early goings of the second quarter, but a Marissa Shelton layup and a three from Harris Robinson put the Red Flash up 20-17. Shelton would drain another three from the corner shortly thereafter to give Saint Francis a 23-22 lead midway through the period.

Lavy had the hot hand from beyond the arc in the third quarter, hitting a trio of three-pointers to help the Red Flash momentarily take control of the game.

Julianna Gibson hit the first two shots of the first quarter for Saint Francis, allowing Saint Francis to stay in the game early in the fourth quarter.

FLASH NUGGETS
Lavy's four three-pointers made marks the ninth time she has hit at least four three-point field goals in a game this season. She ends her freshman season shooting 39.7 percent from deep. Lavy led Saint Francis in three-point field goals on the year with 58 to her name.

Johnson concludes the 2024-25 campaign as the Red Flash's leading scorer with 290 points, an average of 10 per game. Johnson earned All-NEC Second Team honors.

Plata finishes as the Saint Francis team leader in assists and steals with 82 and 42 respectively. Plata was named to the All-NEC Rookie Team.

Marina Artero led Saint Francis in rebounds on the season with 115, averaging 3.8 per game.
