Brooklyn, N.Y. – Both Saint Francis University Tennis teams squared off against LIU on Friday night. The women improved to 4-0 in NEC play and 8-5 on the season with a 4-3 win over LIU, while the men dropped their match to LIU 6-1.

DoublesÂ
The Sharks won the no. 1 and 3 doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead in the contest.
Diana Zuba and
Kally Kadzinski won the no. 2 doubles match 6-2. Zuba is now an even 14-14 on the season in doubles and Kadzinski improves to 16-10.
SinglesÂ
Saint Francis won the no. 1, 2, 3 and 5 singles matches to battle out a win against the team who ended their 2023-24 campaign in the NEC Semifinals.
Zuba and
Dasha Chichkina won the no. 1 and 3 matches respectively in straight sets. Zuba won 6-0, 6-3 and Chichkina won 6-0, 6-4. Zuba improves to 19-6 in singles on the season, while Chichkina moves to 17-6.
Kelly Dowuona fought to a 6-3, 5-7, 6-3 win in the no. 2 singles match to take a 3-1 lead for Saint Francis. She is now 17-9 in singles on the year.
Kadzinski clinched the match for the Red Flash with her second win of the day in a 7-6 (7-4), 7-5, 7-5 result. Kadzinski is now 14-10 on the season in singles play.

The Sharks swept the doubles matches to earn the doubles point.
Matt Kozar and
Kevin Titus Suresh had their match in the no. 3 slot go unfinished. They were tied 4-4 with LIU when the match ended.
SinglesÂ
Tyler Nguyen grabbed a win in the no. 1 slot via a 6-2, 7-5 result. Nguyen earned his fifth singles win of the year.

Patrick Reese and Kozar competed in the 2-6 positions respectively.
