Sam Eschleman put up goals in the fourth quarter against Azusa Pacific to keep Saint Francis in the game, but the Cougars maintained their lead, tacking on another goal in between Eschleman's.
Isabel Lumley scored a goal with 19 seconds left to tie the score at nine goals apiece. Biola then called a timeout before scoring the game-winning goal as time expired.
FLASH MOMENTS
Late in the third quarter against the Cougars,
Caylah Olay notched back-to-back goals to narrow the score to 10-8.
Eschleman got Saint Francis on the board against Biola with 4:13 left in the first quarter. Olay tallied a goal on a power play opportunity, taking a 2-1 lead. Adi Garges tacked on another for a 3-1 score at the end of the first.
Down 8-6, Georgia Ellison found the back of the net against the Eagles with Olay tying the game at eight goals less than a minute later.
FLASH NUGGETS
Olay recorded six goals in the game against Azusa Pacific. In the match against Biola, she tallied three.
Lucia Redaelli had two assists in the loss to the Cougars, adding another two against Biola along with Olay.
Lumley was the lone goalkeeper with 14 saves and an assist against the Cougars and 16 saves, a goal and two steals against the Eagles.
