TURNING POINTS OF THE MATCH
The first set was a back-and-forth affair, with the score being tied six times until the score was knotted at 10 apiece. The Red Flash went on a 5-2 run to go up 15-12, and kept up the momentum until the score was 20-18 going into the final serves. Daemen came back with their own 7-1 rally to take set one, 25-21.
Set two was taken over by Saint Francis, as they streaked out to a 10-3 lead. They pushed their advantage to as much as 22-13 and a Deardorff kill for set point stalled a 6-2 run made by the Wildcats to help the Red Flash win the second set, 25-19.
The third set was a script reversal from set two. Daemen jumped out to a 12-6 lead, and would never look back until the score was 24-16. Saint Francis attempted their own comeback with four-straight points, but ultimately fell short to drop set three, 25-20.
Set four started out with the Wildcats getting out to a 9-5 lead. Daemen managed their lead until the score was 18-15. This was when the teams went back-and-forth exchanging runs, as the Red Flash went on a 6-1 rally to go up 21-19. The Wildcats responded right back with a 4-0 run to take a 23-21 lead, but it was countered by two-straight Saint Francis points to knot the score at 23.
With a chance to end the match, Daemen scored the final two points to win the set and match.
