Women's Tennis Advance To First Ever NEC Final With Win Over Wagner

West Windsor, N.J. – The Saint Francis University women's tennis team made history with their 4-0 win over Wagner in the NEC semifinal win on Friday afternoon. For the first time in program history, the Red Flash will be playing in the NEC Final.

Doubles
The Red Flash won the no. 1 and 2 doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead over the Seahawks.

Sara Jankovic and Reagen Mangan won the no. 2 match in a 6-0 shutout. The duo have a record of 17-9 this season. Jankovic is 20-12 in doubles on the year and Mangan is 18-11.

Diana Zuba and Dasha Chichkina clinched the doubles point for Saint Francis shortly thereafter with a 6-3 win in the no. 1 spot. The tandem are 19-17 together on the year and both are 20-18 individually in doubles.

Singles
Saint Francis won the no. 1, 4 and 6 matches to clinch a historic win for the program.

Zuba nearly pitched a shutout from the no. 1 position, winning 6-1, 6-0. The sophomore improves to 26-9 on the season in singles.

Morgan Tuffs won by retirement in the no. 6 match but was well ahead at 6-4, 3-0. The freshman is now 16-10 on the year.

Kelly Dowuona came up with the match-clinching win in the no. 4 slot, 7-6 (7-2), 7-5. The Brampton, Ontario, native is 24-11 in singles this season after her win.

Chichkina, Mangan and Kadzisnki were singles competitors 2, 3 and 5 respectively, but their matches went unfinished. Kadzinski and Chichkina held leads when their matches were stopped.

Flash Facts
Zuba reached 80-career wins with her two victories on the day. The Marlboro, N.J., product has 49 singles wins and 31 doubles wins.

Dowuona continues to cement her place at the top of the all-time leaderboard for Saint Francis. The Brampton, Ontario, native has now tallied 110 victories over the course of her three years with the Red Flash.

Tuffs' win in singles action moves her into a tie for 23rd place on the all-time list.

For the second consecutive year, the Red Flash have knocked Wagner out of the NEC Tournament. Saint Francis also won 4-0 in their quarterfinal matchup at the 2024 edition of the event.

Saint Francis won their first NEC Semifinal match in program history. They had failed in the previous five tries.
