The Terrapins opened the scoring in the 15th minute and added two more goals in the first half and two tallies in the second half to earn a 5-0 victory.

Maridza Desir had a great scoring chance at 16:53 into the game, but her shot hit off the post.
Raine Korpics had a shot blocked by the Maryland defense at 68:03 and then had the team's first shot on goal stopped by the Maryland netminder at 77:22.

Sawich, who led the Northeast Conference (NEC) last season in save percentage, registered at least nine saves for the sixth time in her career and the fourth time she reached double figures in a match. The senior also had nine stops against another Power Conference school at West Virginia on August 20, 2023, while she registered a career-high 12 saves against Duquesne, the next opponent for Saint Francis, on September 12, 2024.
Korpics is the team's top returning scorer after posting three goals and an assist for seven points last season. Desir is looking for her first Division I score after posting eight shots last season.
Lauren Persichetty, the 2023 NEC Defensive Player of the Year, returned to the Red Flash lineup after missing the 2024 campaign due to injury. She registered four goals and three assists for 11 points in that season.

The Red Flash played a Power Conference team for the 24th time. The squad owns a 1-0 win against Pittsburgh in 2003.
