2025-26 Schedule
LORETTO, Pa. - Saint Francis women's basketball head coach
Chynna Bozeman has announced her 2025-26 non-conference schedule. Highlighting the slate are five games at DeGol Arena, four games against teams from Western Pennsylvania, and games at Pitt and Xavier.
Bozeman makes her head coaching debut at Duquesne on November 3. It will be the third time in the last four years that the Red Flash will open the season against a Western Pennsylvania team, after facing off against Robert Morris in the inaugural game in 2022-23 and 2023-24. The Dukes will also be the team's season opener for the second time in team history and first since 2010-11, marking the 45th meeting in the all-time series dating back to the first game in program history (1968-69).
"Our non-conference schedule will challenge us in different ways and prepare us for the battles of NEC play," said Bozeman. "Facing programs like Robert Morris, Xavier, and Army West Point, and a competitive Thanksgiving Tournament at Iona will test our toughness, execution, and mentality, giving us the experience and confidence we'll need in conference."
The squad will start on the road for the 44th time in team history, seeking its first win to open a campaign since defeating Wisconsin 103-100 on November 13, 2016.
Bozeman becomes the sixth head coach to open her Red Flash coaching career on the road (only Jenny Prezekwas, Myndi Hill, and Joe Haigh opened their time in Loretto at home). She will also look to become the third head coach to win their inaugural Saint Francis game, joining Veronica Bussard, Hill, and Haigh.
The Red Flash will stay on the road for the second game of the year, with the third meeting against La Salle since 2020-21 on November 8.
Saint Francis will make its DeGol Arena debut and begin a four-game homestead against Robert Morris on November 13. The Red Flash defeated the Colonials last season to end a seven-game losing streak in the series, and the game will mark the 94th meeting between the two old Northeast Conference rivals. The homestand continues with Lafayette on November 16 for the third contest against the Leopards in the last three seasons.
Another Western Pennsylvania school, Carnegie Mellon, will visit DeGol Arena on November 18, before Army West Point wraps up the homestand on November 22 with the first meeting between the two teams. Carnegie Mellon makes its 11th appearance on the Saint Francis schedule and the first since the 1984-85 season after the Red Flash won the last three tilts in the series to take a 6-5 edge in the matchup. While Saint Francis has never faced Army West Point, it does have a Red Flash connection. Dave Magarity, a 1972 graduate of Saint Francis, coached the Army West Point team from 2006 to 2021 with a 266-183 record as the women's basketball head coach.
The four-game homestand comes to a close when the Loretto program heads to Iona to participate in the Iona Tournament on November 28-29. The Red Flash will play at Iona for the third time in team history and the first time since the 1987-88 campaign.
After the Iona Tournament, Saint Francis returns home to host Delaware State on December 6. The Loretto program will be looking for its third straight win in the series against the Hornets. Delaware State will make its first trip to DeGol Arena in 30 years, which coincides with the Red Flash's 30th Anniversary of its first of 12 NEC Tournament titles in 1995-96. Also in the tournament is Illinois-Chicago and Maine. The Red Flash has never faced Illinois-Chicago, but faced Maine once in the 1999-00 season.
Ending non-conference play will consist of three road games: at Xavier (December 14), at Pitt (December 18), and at Fordham (December 21). Xavier is on the schedule for the fourth time in team history and the first time since 2023-24, while Pitt is on the slate for the 15th time, with the Red Flash looking for its first win against the Panthers since 2010-11. The two teams last met in the 2023-24 season. It is the first meeting with Fordham, but it marks the second straight year the Red Flash will play three Atlantic 10 teams, following their wins over Duquesne, Saint Joseph's, and Rhode Island. The team will also conclude its non-conference slate against an Atlantic 10 team for the second consecutive year.
