Saint Francis Women's Soccer Records A Home Win Against Geneva

LORETTO, Pa. – Saint Francis women's soccer defeated Geneva Wednesday evening, 4-1, at Stokes Soccerplex.

The Red Wolves controlled possession throughout the first half, creating several scoring opportunities. With 10 minutes remaining before halftime, Reagan Truxillo opened the scoring off an assist from Jacklyn Hajnosz. Three minutes later, Meredith Artz extended the lead to 2-0 after finding the back of the net off a pass from Riley Cerqua.

Geneva cut the deficit in half nine minutes into the second half, but Saint Francis quickly responded. Truxillo scored her second goal of the night off an assist from Ella Gladfelter to restore the Red Wolves' two-goal advantage. In the closing minutes, Gladfelter recorded her first collegiate goal, finishing a pass from Molly Baker to seal the 4-1 victory.

Alyssa Walker recorded seven saves in goal for Saint Francis.

Gladfelter finished the night with her first collegiate goal, first collegiate assist, and first three-point game.

Artz led the Red Wolves with five shots on goal, followed by Truxillo with four, Delaney Urban with two, and Gladfelter with one.

"We are really proud of the response from our team. We had a challenging stretch where we couldn't find results despite playing well. It was a solid performance from our entire team. This team has such a fighting spirit," said head coach Brian Diaz. "This matchup was not easy. Geneva came out strong to start the second half. But our team again responded very well after conceding. We were able to reply with a goal 17 seconds later and take back control of the game. It was a very good 90-minute performance."

The Red Wolves return to action Saturday against Hiram in Hiram, Ohio. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
