WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Saint Francis softball dropped both games on day two of the Cal Baptist Invitational to Loyola Marymount and Cal Baptist, 9-1 and 4-0, respectively, on Saturday, Feb. 14, at John C. Funk Stadium in Riverside, California.
TURNING POINT OF THE GAME
In game one, the ultimate turning point of game one came in the top of the third inning when lions jumped out to a two-run lead after a pair of singles drove in back-to-back RBIs to give them a lead the Red Flash were never able to surpass. In game two, it was much of the same story. In the bottom of the first inning, the host team, Cal Baptist, got on the board first following an RBI single up the right side of the infield to give the Lancers the 1-0 lead.
FLASH MOMENTSÂ
In game one, Sophomore Morgan Pasternak continued her hot streak into day two of the invitational, singling through the right side of the infield to score junior Aliya Garroway to put the red flash on the board 2-1. Pasternak leads the Red Flash so far this season with nine total RBIs.
ON DECK
The Red Flash are back in action on sunday Feb.15, as Saint Francis takes on the Roadrunners of Cal State Bakersfield in a getaway day game slated for a 3 pm first pitch at John C. Funk Stadium in Riverside, California.
