WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Saint Francis softball dropped its second game of the day to South Carolina Upstate, losing 12-1 on Friday afternoon at Cyrill Softball Stadium in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
TURNING POINT OF THE GAME
The turning point of the game came early when the Spartans scored first. They recorded three hits and executed a stolen base to drive in three runs against the Red Flash in the top of the first inning. For the remainder of the game, Saint Francis could not recover from the early deficit.
FLASH MOMENTSÂ
The Red Flash finally broke through in the top of the fourth inning when sophomore Morgan Pasternak launched her first collegiate home run over the left-field fence, putting Saint Francis on the board, 12-1.
Starting pitcher Kate Hrinda went 2.2 innings before junior Olivia Kolowitz came in for relief, pitching the final 1.1 innings. Both recorded a strikeout.

The Saint Francis Red Flash softball team returns to action tomorrow as it continues its five-game set in the Founders Classic. Game three will be against Towson at 12:30 p.m. at Cyrill Softball Stadium in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
