FLASH MOMENTS
For the second time in this three-game set, the Red Flash got on the board immediately in the bottom of the first inning. In the opening frame, after junior Aliya Garroway was hit by a pitch and freshman Olivia Hood reached base with a hit, Pasternak drove in both base runners with her first career triple, giving Saint Francis a 2-0 lead.
Despite the Chargers' attempts to mount a comeback in the sixth and seventh innings, Saint Francis recorded a critical four-run inning in the bottom of the sixth. In the final home frame of the series, junior Sofia Zielinski hit her seventh home run of the season, providing her team with much-needed insurance runs. The scoring continued for the Red Flash when freshman Zoe Kesterson reached on a throwing error, allowing junior Olivia Kolowitz and Pasternak to score, further extending the Saint Francis lead to 6-1.
Starting pitcher Kesterson had her best game of the season, tossing 6.1 innings to earn her first collegiate win. During her outing, she allowed three runs on six hits while striking out two Charger batters.
