Saint Francis softball fell to Tarleton, 11-0, on Thursday night in the final game of the San Marcos Showdown at Bobcat Softball Stadium in San Marcos, Texas. Junior Aliya Garroway extended her on-base streak to seven straight games.
TURNING POINT OF THE GAME
The momentum changer in this afternoon's game came right at the start during the top of the first inning. In that frame, the Texans compiled four baserunners and brought three of them home, quickly putting the Red Flash at a 3-0 disadvantage, a deficit they could not overcome for the rest of the game.
FLASH MOMENTS
Saint Francis recorded two hits in today's contest, the first occurring in the home half of the third inning when Garroway singled into shallow left field to become the first Red Flash on base. This marked her seventh straight game reaching base and brought her total to 17 hits this season, good for second on the team.
The final Red Flash baserunner appeared in the following inning when NEC Co-Player of the Week Sofia Zielinski shot one up the middle to record her team-leading 21st hit.

The Red Flash softball team returns to action Saturday, March 14, as they head back to Loretto to take on New Haven in a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
