Five Red Flash Softball Players Earn CSC Academic All-District

Annabelle Farmer, Aliya Garroway, Kate Hrinda, Olivia Kolowitz, and Morgan Pasternak, members of the Saint Francis softball team, have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District team. Farmer, Garroway, and Kolowitz earn the distinction for the second-straight year, while Hrinda and Pasternak receive their first honors.

Farmer, who had a 3.94 grade-point average and graduated with a degree in exercise physiology, ranked third on the team in home runs (9), third in doubles (6), third in total bases (70), and fourth in RBIs (18), and posted a batting average of .278.

Garroway, who had a 3.95 grade-point average and graduated in three years with a degree in accounting, paced the team in walks (44) and ranked second in runs scored (33), third in doubles (6), fourth in batting average (.298), and fourth in home runs (3). The junior set a program record by reaching base in 32 straight contests this season.

Hrinda, who has a 3.66 grade-point average and is majoring in management, pitched in 20 games with eight starts. She registered eight strikeouts in 39.0 innings pitched.

Kolowitz, who boasts a 3.91 grade-point average with a major in marketing, appeared in 25 games on the mound with seven starts. The junior posted 18 strikeouts in 57.0 innings pitched. Kolowitz also had three home runs and eight RBIs in 44 at-bats.

Pasternak, who has a 3.61 grade-point average and is majoring in nursing, powered the team in RBIs (42), doubles (9), and ranked second in hits (42), home runs (11), second in total bases (86) and third in runs (29). The sophomore went 3-for-5 with a grand slam and five RBIs in a game against Bucknell on March 26.

Eligible nominees must have at least a 3.50 grade-point average and compete in 90 percent of the institution's games played or must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games. For pitchers, a student-athlete must have made at least 17 appearances OR pitched 35 innings.

Farmer, Garroway, and Kolowitz give softball five student-athletes who have repeated the honor since 2022 and for the sixth time in program history. Since 2022, 37 Saint Francis student-athletes have been two-time recipients and 55 times in program history. 

The Red Flash softball team has earned the second most All-District honors since 2022, with 20 distinctions (two behind women's soccer), and is two behind football for the most all-time with 36 selections.
