DELAWARE, Ohio. – Saint Francis women's soccer matched up with Ohio Wesleyan on the road in Delaware, Ohio, Friday evening. The Red Wolves and the Bishops traded goals, but ultimately ended in a 1-1 draw.
The first half of the match remained scoreless. Both teams had opportunities with shots on goal, but the goalkeepers kept the game deadlocked heading into halftime.
Meredith Artz's, just outside of the box, goal landed in the top right corner of the net just outside of the goalkeeper's reach. Artz's goal gave the Red Wolves a 1-0 advantage during the 63rd minute of the match. The Bishops answered right back with a goal of their own during the 68th minute. The rest of the second half remained even as both teams battled for the go-ahead goal until the final horn sounded.
Alyssa Walker recorded nine saves in goal Friday evening.Â

"We had really good stretches of play today. We battled well to finish the match strong," head coach
Brian Diaz stated. "There is definitely room for growth and I am not sure we have seen our best 90 minutes yet. Bu we are working hard and making forward steps every day. Our best soccer is still to come."
The Red Wolves will be back on the pitch Sunday for a exhibition game against Sewannee at 1 p.m., in Delaware, Ohio.
