SENIOR (2017)- NAMED NORTHEAST CONFERENCE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR... Broke her own school record for most digs in a season with 580...School record 41 digs in a match (9/5 vs Duquesne), 38 digs (11/11 vs Bryant), 36 digs (9/8 at YSU), 34 digs (9/22 vs RMU)... Set a new career mark for digs with 1,990, just the second player in NEC history to cross the 1,900 mark.... Finished 7th in the nation in Division I with 6.01 digs/set...1st in the nation with 34 digs in a 3-Set match (10/21 vs LIU)...NEC Defensive Player of the Week twice (9/11, 10/2
JUNIOR (2016) – Appeared in 98 sets during her junior season… Was second on the team with 81 assists… Led the team with 488 digs, breaking her own school record for digs in a single season… Crossed the 1,000 dig mark for her career, just the sixth player to cross that mark at SFU...Finished second in the conference in digs per set with 4.98… Recorded a season-high 31 digs against FDU (10/2)… Was named NEC Defensive Player of the Week for her efforts in the Red Flash Classic.
SOPHOMORE (2015) – Saw action in 29 matches during her sophomore season… Finished the 2015 season with 16 service aces, 73 assists and a team-high 457 digs… Recorded 32 digs in a win against Central Connecticut State (11/14)… Her 32 digs ranks second in school history for most in a game… Against Fordham (9/18) and Fairleigh Dickinson (11/7), she logged 27 and 25 digs, respectively… Earned NEC Defensive Player of Week on Nov.16 for her efforts against CCSU and Bryant.
FRESHMAN (2014) - Saw action in 29 matches during her first collegiate season … led the team in digs with 465, setting a then-school record … recorded the second highest assist total for the Flash with 60 … also registered 18 service aces … tallied a season high 26 digs in match against West Virginia (9/13) … posted 22 digs and 5 service aces in a win over NEC foe Bryant (11/1)
BEFORE SFU - Veres another Padua Franciscan High School signee helped lead her team to a 2013 state championship title posting a school-best 29-1 showing ... The three-year varsity athlete was the 2013 Gilmour Lancer Invitational Tournament MVP, she made the North Coast second team and was finally honored on the Ohio District II second team after a stellar 2013 season ... A 5'6 senior, Veres tallied 487 digs, 52 coming in the state semifinal match and 25 in the state championship match.
PERSONAL - From 2012-14 Veres was part of the National Honor Society and also received first honors throughout High School ... Went to same high school as teammate Emily Marcinowski.
