Saint Francis University Athletics

SENIOR (2015-16) – Placed sixth at the NEC Championships in the 100-yard Backstroke, with a time of 58.06. Also finished 10th in the 200-yard Backstroke, with a pace of 2:05.10… Earned four Top Three finishes in the 100-yard Backstroke, with wins in meets against St. Francis Brooklyn(10/10) and Youngstown State(1/30). Placed third in the 100-yard Backstroke at the Northeast Catholic Invite, hosted by Boston College… Had two Top Three finishes in the 200-yard Backstroke… Combined with Paige McLean, Jessie Reilly and Catherine Rogers to win the 200-yard Medley Relay at the Northeast Catholic Invite, with a time of 1:50.74… Teamed with Emma Karell, McLean and Reilly to win the 200-yard Medley Relay at St. Francis Brooklyn, with a pace of 1:52.63.

JUNIOR (2014-15) – Team captain … holds the school record with a 56.45 in the 100 backstroke … won the 100-yard backstroke (1:01.42) and also finished fourth in the 1,000 free in 11:16.65 at St. Francis Brooklyn … came in seventh in the 200-yard backstroke in the NEC Championship with 2:07.19 … also competed in the USA Winter Nationals in December against swimmers from across the country, where she finished the prelims of the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 57.42, only 5.10 seconds behind the winner. 

SOPHOMORE (2013-14) – Competed in the 100-yard backstroke (56.58) and the 200-yard backstroke (2:02.60) at the NEC Championships, placing second in both events … also swam in the 200-yard IM (2:08.78) … helped SFU to a second place finish in the 400-yard medley relay (3:46.84) and a fourth place finish in the 800-yard freestyle relay (7:34.90) … named to the All NEC Second Team.

FRESHMAN (2012-13) – Appeared in 3 individual events at the NEC Championships … finished the 200-yard IM race in 2:11.86, the 100-yard backstroke in 58.20, and the 200-yard backstroke in 2:06.60 … competed on the 200-yard medley relay team, helping her squad to a time of 1:49.82 … SFU won their fourth consecutive NEC Championship and registered a perfect record at home (3-0).

BEFORE SFU – Dieterich was a member of the Connetquot High School swim team.  She earned All-American honors in 2010 and 2011.  She was also a four time all-state selection and was a team captain in 2011. Dieterich was a 2010 state champion in the 200 Individual Medley and the 200 Freestyle Relay. Dieterich is a member of the National Honor Society

PERSONAL – Sara is the daughter of Brian and Carolyn Dieterich… Majors in Physical Therapy at SFU.
