SENIOR (2010) – Saw action in four games, making three starts … Recorded one assisted tackle that came against Robert Morris (10/2) ... Received a medical hardship that ended his season and caused him to redshirt.
JUNIOR (2009) - Junior concluded his 2009 season as the Red Flash’s active returning touchdown leader with seven scores in his career… started all 11 games for the Red Flash for the second straight season and has become an iron man for the offense… caught six passes for 69 yards in 2009… caught a season-long 21-yard pass against Albany (10/3)… caught two passes against Northern Iowa (9/19).
SOPHOMORE (2008) - Played in all 11 games in his sophomore campaign…Had 16 receptions for 241 yards…Averaged 15.1 yards/completion…Tallied 3 touchdowns…Averaged 21.9 yards/game. Had a career/season high 4 receptions for 73 yards against Sacred Heart (10/11)…Longest career/season reception of 31 yards also came against Sacred Heart
FRESHMAN (2007) - Played in eight games as a freshman, securing a starting spot at tight end… had 7 receptions for 90 yards, 4 of which made it to the end zone… finished second on the team with 4 TD receptions… first career catch was a 3-yard TD grab against CCSU (10/6/07)… had 3 receptions for 42 yards and a TD in contest vs. Albany (10/20/07)… had a TD catch in win at Sacred Heart (10/27/07)… had 14-yard TD reception in win at Wagner (11/10/07)… Elementary / Special Education major.
BEFORE SFU - Under the guidance of head coach Gene Matsook, Zarnich helped lead Rochester Area to a 45-9 four-year record… guided the Rams to the 2004 WPIAL title, and a PIAA runner-up finish… also led Rochester Area to 2005 and 2006 WPIAL runner-up finishes… was second team all-state linebacker, first team all-conference tight end and linebacker as a senior… earned second team tight end and honorable mention linebacker honors as a junior… was honorable mention all-conference tight end as a sophomore… had 14 receptions for 211 yards and 5 TDs as a senior, as well as 220 tackles, 3 interceptions, 2.5 sacks and 2 defensive TDs… member of the honor roll.
