(Coming soon)

Appeal Procedure
The student-athlete is responsible for initiating an appeal.

STEP 1:
The student-athlete must obtain a statement of knowledge of the appeal from his or her head coach.

STEP 2:
They must obtain an endorsement of the appeal from the director of athletics. Should the director of athletics not support the appeal, it will not proceed any further.

STEP 3:
If the appeal has the support of the director of athletics, the chair of the Academic Integrity Committee of the Athletics Advisory Board will convene a hearing on the matter. The student-athlete will be invited to provide testimony to the committee. The academic advisor of the student-athlete will be invited to make a written recommendation regarding athletics participation, and others may also be invited to provide testimony to the committee.

Members of the committee will participate fully in the proceedings of the committee. If a member(s) of the Academic Integrity Committee is not available for the hearing, the chair of the Athletics Advisory Board may appoint an alternate(s) from the Athletics Advisory Board or the teaching faculty to participate.

STEP 4:
The committee will vote on the appeal in closed session (i.e., only voting members of the committee will be present). A simple majority of the members of the committee present must vote to approve the request for the appeal to be granted.

STEP 5:
The decision of the committee will be communicated, in writing, to the student-athlete, the director of athletics, the registrar, and the student-athlete’s academic advisor.

The decision of the committee is final and may not be appealed.
