SAMs: Award Winners
In 2013, the Student-Athlete Development Center established awards recognizing the outstanding accomplishments of SAAC and SAMs members.
The Jenny is named in honor of former Assistant Director of Student-Athlete Academic Services Jennifer Fox for his outstanding contributions to SAMs during his time at SFU. The Jenny is given annually to the outstanding Student-Athlete(s) of the Year in SAMs; as well as the Rookie(s) of the Year in SAMs.
The Brent Zierer Unsung Hero Award was established in 2014 in honor of Brent Zierer, who was added to the SFU Football roster as a result of Saint Francis Athletics' parternship with Team IMPACT. The Unsung Hero Award recognizes a student-athlete who makes a significant contribution to SAMs while also bringing joy to fellow student-athletes. Hard-working, humble, honest, kind and enthusiastic; this individual serves as an inspiration to SAMs. The award recipient should exhibit leadership as a positive role model.
