It is the mission of the Saint Francis University APPLE Leadership Team to provide alcohol and substance abuse training and alternative programming to all university students. With funding from the NCAA CHOICES Grant, the APPLE Leadership Team hosts Late-Night Alternative Events, Safe Tailgates, and disseminates educational materials. The APPLE Leadership Team is student-athlete led and was established as a result of our participation at the yearly APPLE Training Institute.

Late-Night Alternatives
The APPLE Leadership Team host various late-night events on Friday's or Saturdays, as a safe alternative for SFU students to participate in. Events take all different shapes and forms. Some of our most successful events include: a Dodge Ball Tournament, Trivia Night, BINGO, and a Super Bowl Watch Party. Late Night Alternatives are hosted twice a month and are made possible by funding from the NCAA CHOICE Grant. Late Night Alternatives are open to all SFU students.

The Red Zone Tailgates
The APPLE Leadership Team established the Red Zone Tailgate in 2019. A free and "safe alternative" tailgate is set up prior to every home football game for all students to attend. There is always free food and drinks along with a great selection of yard games. In addition to all home football games, the APPLE Leadership Team sets up tailgates periodically throughout the year for other sporting events. The Leadership Team makes it a point to set up a tailgate at as many playoff games as possible throughout the year. The APPLE Leadership Team is able to host these tailgates for free for all students with funding from the NCAA CHOICES Grant.

APPLE Leadership Team Rookie of the Year
Each year, this award is present to a new member of the APPLE Leadership Team that demonstrated exceptional leadership and commitment to the organization.

APPLE Leadership Team Student-Athlete of the Year
This award is presented annually to the member of the APPLE Leadership Team that goes above and beyond expectations and makes it a point to create the best possible experience for all students at APPLE sponsored events.
