Hammaker enters her third year with the Red Flash in 2021.

The 2020 season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Red Flash earned the NFHCA Team Academic Award while six individuals were named NFHCA Division I Scholars of Distinction.

In 2019, she helped two student-athletes earn NFHCA Scholars of Distinction. She also helped the team receive the NFHCA Team Academic Award.

Saint Francis field hockey head coach Betta Ceretta announced the hiring of Katie Hammaker as her assistant coach in advance of the 2019 season.

Hammaker is a 2019 graduate of Brown University where she was the starting goaltender for four seasons and a two-year captain. Hammaker graduated from Brown with a degree in education and was a four-time Field Hockey Coaches' Association Honor Roll member as well as a two-time All-Ivy League net minder.

"Our program and University are very fortunate to be adding Katie to our staff," Head Coach Betta Ceretta said.  "Coming off a well decorated college career, Katie is positive and upbeat young leader. At Brown, she was active in all parts of the campus and local communities. As a two year captain and four year starter Katie anchored the back field for the Bears. Additionally, Katie has a vast coaching resume and has all the qualities to be a very successful college coach."

Off the field, Hammaker worked off-season field hockey camps and clinics with the Bears as well as the Allegiance Field Hockey Club and the USA Field Hockey Futures Program. The Ephrata, Pennsylvania native was also a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee at Brown and twice represented the school at the Ivy League SAAC meetings. Hammaker was also involved with the Athletes in Action, Global Sport Community Fellowship as well as Project P.V.D. (Play, Venture, Dream) where she helped to build playgrounds in and around Providence.Â
