Ryan Heasley joined the SFU Football Staff in July 2017 and begins his second season as Offensive Line Coach in 2018.
The Red Flash offensive line started the same five players all season in 2017, one of the few teams in the nation to accomplish that. The line featured First Team All-NEC left tackle Mederick Flavius, Jr. and Second Team All-NEC center Mike Ames. The line also included left guard Anthony Barber, right guard Isaac Jackson Jr. and right tackle Evan Ferguson. Sean Davis also earned time in the offensive line rotation.

The offensive line helped the Red Flash offense to average 21.9 points, 287.1 total yards, 185.6 passing yards and 101.5 rushing yards per game. Helped Jymere Jordan-Toney to rush for over 100 yards in two games and Bear Fenimore to throw for over 280 yards in three games. Fenimore had the fifth-most completions in a season at SFU, with 159.

SFU’s offense had 38 plays of 20 or more yards, including 29 passes and nine rushes.
Heasley came to Loretto with 16 years of coaching experience. He spent the past five seasons as Offensive Coordinator/Offensive Line Coach at Ithaca College. Heasley helped the Bombers to back-to-back conference titles and NCAA Division III Playoffs appearances. During his time at Ithaca, Heasley coached 12 players who earned All-Conference honors, including All-America tight end Ben Cary.

The Pittsburgh native spent one year as Offensive Coordinator/Offensive Line Coach at Providence High School in North Carolina after coaching three seasons as Offensive Coordinator/Offensive Line Coach at Davidson from 2008-10. Heasley coached for five years at Washington University in St. Louis after starting his career at Marietta College in 2001.

Heasley graduated from Bethany College in 1999 after playing three seasons for the Bison. He served as team captain and was a two-time All-Conference honoree.Â
