Andres Torres completed his second year as a graduate assistant for the men's and women's tennis programs in 2020-21.
In 2021, Torres helped led the women’s team to a No. 4 seed and the men’s team to a No. 5 seed in the NEC Tournament. The SFU women earned seven NEC Prime Performer awards while the SFU men earned three. Freshman Dominique Yeo was named NEC Player and Rookie of the Month on March 3 after going 5-2 in singles matches and 4-3 in doubles matches in February to open her collegiate career.
Torres is from Armenia, Colombia, where he graduated from Cibercolegio UCN, Colombia. He completed his undergrad studies at UNC Wilmington and graduated in 2018 with a degree in Marketing Strategy.
During his time at UNC Wilmington, Torres played for the tennis team all four years at the number one position in singles and number two position in doubles during his junior and senior year. Torres also won two CAA titles with the team in 2017 and 2018 and participated in the NCAA championship the same years. He won the Most Improved ITA Senior Award for the Carolina Region on 2018.
