Ethan Perry enters his fourth season as an assistant coach for the Saint Francis men’s and women’s track and field teams in 2018-2019. His primary focus is with the throwers.
While at Saint Francis, Perry has worked with 2 NCAA East Preliminary Qualifiers (Sara Phelan in 2016 and 2018 and Michelle Hildebrand in 2017 and 2018) and 17 NEC All-Conference selections. Under his guidance, Saint Francis throwers have set 7 school records in 3 events (Sarah Phelan and Michelle Hildebrand in the javelin and Shamsiddin Little in the indoor shot put and outdoor shot put) and occupied 25 spots in the school's Top-10 All-time record book.
Perry also helped Ben Ross earn the NEC Most Outstanding Outdoor Field Performer in 2018 and Jordan Collins earn the NEC Most Outstanding Indoor Field Performer award in 2016. Ben Ross claimed the NEC Outdoor title in the hammer, in addition to contributing in 3 other events including a second place finish in the discus for the third consecutive year.
Saint Francis throwers concluded the 2018 season at the NCAA East Preliminary Round with Sarah Phelan and Michelle Hildebrand earning 19th and 39th place finishes, respectively, which helped each to garner USTFCCCA All-Academic honors.
Prior to Saint Francis, Perry spent two seasons at the University of Toledo, where he served as an assistant coach. While at Toledo, Perry oversaw the maintenance of both the indoor and outdoor facilities, oversaw fundraising and community service opportunities and served as the primary strength trainer for the Rocket athletes.
Before his time with the University of Toledo, Perry was an assistant track and field coach at his alma mater, Ohio Wesleyan University, in Delaware, Ohio. With OWU, Perry helped with recruiting as well as worked with both track and field and cross-country athletes. He also helped coordinate and manage meets, including hosting the 2014 NCAA Division-III Outdoor Championships.
He has earned a USATF Level 2 Certification in the throws.
Ethan’s wife, Katie, ran cross country and track and field at Saint Francis for four years. Katie still currently holds 9 spots on school’s Top-10 All-time record book, including the school record in the 4x800 Meter Relay. Katie was also an assistant coach for cross country and track and field for two seasons at Saint Francis while earning a Master of Business Administration.
Ethan and Katie reside in Ebensburg.
