Grant West enter his third season on the track & field staff at Saint Francis University as the throws coach in 2015-16.

West’s guidance has proved essential to sophomore standout Emma O’Hara. The Abingdon, England native put together another impressive season in 2014-15 as she won the hammer throw at the 2015 NEC Outdoor Track & Field Championships and broke the league’s record in the meantime. On the men’s side, Jesse Brown was named the NEC Rookie Performer of the Meet as he won the weight throw at the NEC Indoor Championships.

West spent three years at Rider University constructing the men's and women's track & field teams into a success in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. From 2010 to 2013, he produced several outstanding Bronc athletes, including 22 IC4A/ECAC qualifiers, one Junior National qualifier, four individual conference champions, the 2011 Men's Outdoor MAAC Champion, and the 2013 Men's and Women's Outdoor MAAC Champion. The championships were the first in school history.

While at Temple West was a 2009-10 All Atlantic 10 Conference team athlete, All-East team athlete in the weight throw, an NCAA regional qualifier, and the Atlantic 10 Conference Champion in the hammer throw in 2010.  During his 2007 freshman track season, he received the Rookie of the Year award in track and field.

West has an extensive track and field background. His most recent accomplishments are qualifications as a USATFCCCA Throws Specialist and Level One USATF Coaching Certification.

A graduate of Temple University in 2010, West received a Bachelor of Arts in History. He also holds a Master's degree from Argosy University in Sport-Exercise Psychology.
