EIVA Player of the Week- 2018

SENIOR (2019)- Finished third on the team with 193 kills, 2.19 kills per set, and 228 total points.. Registered a double-double vs Penn State (1/21) with 12 kills and 12 digs...Tallied 21 kills on 39 attempts (.385) against Lindenwood (1/25)...Recorded 12 kills and 10 digs in the five set thriller over #13 Ohio State (1/1)...  Notched 11 kills, two digs, and three service aces at Belmont Abbey on 2/9...Notched a season-high four blocks to go along with eight kills in the 3-0 win over NJIT (3/1)...Finished with 14 kills, seven digs, and one block in five set thriller against Purdue Fort Wayne (3/16).. Tallied 17 kills, one ace, two digs, and two blocks in the 3-1 win over Sacred Heart (3/31)..Recorded back to back 11 kill performances against University of Charleston (4/6) and Princeton (4/12). Cole finished his final season with 193 kills, 21 aces, and 96 digs. 

JUNIOR (2018)- EIVA Offensive Player of the Week....Appeared in 23 of the 29 matches played...Third on the team in total kills (186)...Has registered 18 service aces, 141 digs, and 32 blocks...Recorded 11 kills, 11 digs, and 4 service aces in loss to Penn State (3/18/17).

SOPHOMORE (2017) – Primarily used an serving specialist, Thompson appeared in 21 matches... Finished with a service ace in a win against Scared Heart… Recorded 37 digs... Added nine digs against California Baptist and McKendree. 

FRESHMAN (2016) - Appeared in 14 games… Registered two kills, three digs and totaled a block.

BEFORE SFU - A four-year varsity letterman, Thompson comes to Loretto out of Los Alamitos High School on the west coast ... Played for head coach Mike Whitcomb and was the team leader in kills and aces in both 2013 and 2014 ... Also in 2014, Thompson was First Team All-Sunset League and First Team All-Area by Long Beach Press-Telegram ... Also plays on High Line Volleyball club team in California and was selected to 2014 USA Volleyball High Performance Boys Youth Continental Team.
 
PERSONAL - Thompson also excels in the classroom as he carried a near-perfect 3.98 GPA in high school to go along with National Honor Society credentials ... He is the son of Melinda and Rob Thompson and plans to major in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering at Saint Francis U.
