Brian Harris was named the Assistant Director of University Bands at Saint Francis University on July 1, 2013. He enters his third year at SFU in 2015-16.
His past experiences have included work as the director of the Canfield Community Concert Band and as the band director at several high schools, including Cardinal Mooney, Bishop Carroll and North Penn Jr./Sr. High School.

"I am excited to have the opportunity to work with such a dedicated and outstanding organization," Harris said. "I look forward to a great first year with the Red Flash Marching and Pep Bands."

Harris was also responsible for directing the choirs and small ensembles at both Cardinal Mooney High School and Bishop Carroll High School. He's also served as the assistant marching band director at Lakeview Local High School.

He's performed professionally with the Butler Symphony Orchestra, Nittany Symphony Orchestra, Joe McConnell Jazz/Dixieland Band, and the Keystone Wind Ensemble. Â

"I am very excited to add Brian to our marching band family," Director of University Bands Dan Atwood said. "His marching experience along with his skill as an arranger and enthusiasm for the program will be great assets to the university bands."

Harris graduated from Indiana (Pa.) with a degree in music education and completed his master's of music in performance in instrumental conducting from Youngstown State.
