Jacinda Dunbar

Jacinda Dunbar was named an assistant coach in June 2019.

Dunbar comes to Loretto after spending the past season as the Northwestern women’s basketball program's director of operations, where she was with the team on their postseason run to the 2019 WNIT championship game. She previously spent three years as an assistant coach for the Yale's women's basketball team, where she helped guide the Bulldogs to a program-record 19-win season. While with Yale, the team advanced to the Ivy League Tournament and was the winner of the Women’s Basketball Invitational.

Dunbar coached two-time Ivy League defensive player of the year Tamara Simpson and mentored post player Jen Berkowitz to First Team All-Ivy honors after she led the conference in field goal percentage for two years in a row. She ran the Allison Guth Bulldog Basketball Camps and was responsible for recruiting, post development, scouting reports, film breakdown, scheduling and overseeing team travel.

Prior to Yale, Dunbar worked as an assistant coach at Wesleyan for two years, where she gained experience in recruiting, practice planning, fundraising, scouting, film exchange, travel plans, player development and strength and conditioning.
She was also an Athletic Department Intern at Wesleyan, helping to supervise game management and assisting in physical education classes. Dunbar was also an assistant coach for one year at Southern Connecticut State.

A team captain as a student-athlete for Quinnipiac, Dunbar averaged nearly 10 points per game in her sophomore and junior seasons. She helped lead her team to a postseason WNIT appearance her senior year.

Dunbar earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Quinnipiac in 2012 and a master's degree in liberal studies from Wesleyan in 2015.
