La'Tavia Rorie enters her third season as assistant coach for the Saint Francis U women's basketball team in 2015-16.
In 2014-15, Rorie helped coach one of the best scorers in Saint Francis history in Alexa Hayward. She leaves Saint Francis U ranked fourth all-time in scoring at 1,779 career points. Hayward was named a Senior CLASS Award First Team All-America Selection and was invited to the exclusive WNBA ProHoops combine. In Rorie’s first season with the Red Flash, they advanced to the Northeast Conference Championship game for the second consecutive season. Saint Francis also led the entire league in scoring at 82.4 points per game. Rorie helped coach Alli Williams to a season to remember as she averaged 25.3 points per game and was named an All-NEC First Team selection.
Rorie comes to Saint Francis after enjoying a four-year playing career at Virginia Commonwealth University. She was a captain for the Rams from 2008-2010. While at VCU, Rorie helped coach at numerous basketball summer camps. She instructed and developed players and assisted in game preparations and instructions.
Rorie went on to play semi-professional basketball in Charlotte, North Carolina for the Lady Stunters. During her time in N.C., Rorie was also a personal conditioning/basketball trainer. She monitored and communicated progress and developed workout and eating regimens for clients.
Rorie graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from VCU in 2010.
