Allison Mitzel is joining the Flash Fam for the 2015 season from Youngstown State University. She played for the Penguins from 2011-2015, and competed in every tournament for the team during her career, which was a record 99 rounds. A native of Poland, Ohio, she won three tournaments during her time at YSU, including winning the Horizon League Conference Championship as a sophomore by 7 strokes. She also set a new 18-hole record by firing a 67 during her sophomore season at the Dayton Flyer Invite. In her final season at YSU, her team won the Horizon League Conference Championship, which advanced them to Regionals for the first time in school history. She is a two-time Academic All-Horizon League recipient, two-time Horizon League Women’s Golfer of the Week, and two-time WGCA All-American Scholar.
Prior to her time at YSU, she played four years of Varsity golf at Poland Seminary High School, where she helped her team capture the Division II State Championship in 2008, and back-to-back Runner-Up finishes in 2009 and 2010. In her senior season, she finished 5th at the State tournament.
