"I am incredibly happy to welcome Micah on board as a Red Flash," said Yunez. "Micah exemplifies many of our core principles in his ability to develop authentic relationships, in his work ethic, and in his passion for the sport. I'm very thankful to welcome his experiences as a player and coach to our program, and I'm excited to have him as a member of our women's soccer family."
Fitz comes to Loretto after serving as a graduate assistant coach for the Liberty men' soccer program the previous three seasons. During his stint with Liberty he was able to help guide the team to historic wins over programs such as Wake Forest and UNC Chapel Hill. In 2021, Fitz was the head coach of Imago Dei Soccer Academy U23 men's team. His first coaching experience came in the Spring of 2020 when he started out as the Mechanicsburg Middle School boys team head coach.
"First and foremost, I would just like to thank Sara and the Saint Francis athletics department for trusting me with this opportunity," said Fitz. "It was clear from the start that Sara and I share the same mission, vision, and values for this team. The principle of pursuing excellence that is deeply ingrained within the community of Saint Francis as a whole made this job extremely attractive. Alongside this, the players' portrayal of this principle as well as their sheer commitment to developing not only as players, but as people made my decision to come to Saint Francis an easy one. Overall, I am excited to get to work and eager to help guide and lead these players. I can't wait to be a part of the Red Flash community!"
A 2020 graduate of Messiah College, Fitz helped guide that Falcons team to three straight MAC Commonwealth Conference Championships. In 2019, Fitz was a 1st-Team MAC Commonwealth Conference Selection. Fitz compiled an overall record of 80-7-8 at his time at Messiah while helping the Falcons become 2017 NCAA Division III men's soccer champions. Fitz has completed his master's of arts degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Liberty University.
