Terence Swinney

Terence Swinney was named the first full-time assistant coach in the 30-year history of the Saint Francis University women's volleyball team for the 2014-15 season. He will enter his second season in 2015.

Swinney helped guide the Red Flash back to the Northeast Conference postseason tournament as they carried a 12 win season, including eight in NEC play. The Red Flash secured the No. 3 seed and had two players received All-NEC recognition. Hannah Kutny and Brenna Opera each earned a spot on the Second Team.

With seven years of coaching experience, five years at the collegiate level, Swinney comes from the University of Charleston. Swinney was an assistant coach who also had a brief stint as interim head coach from March to April of 2014.

"I'm excited to have Terence join the staff here at Saint Francis, said head coach Jason Kozak. "We had success while working together at Charleston and will look to continue that success here.  He understands my philosophies and the culture that I want to build, which will allow him to hit the ground running."

While under Kozak's command, Swinney helped lead the Golden Eagles to a third place finish in the Mountain East Conference. The squad complied a 22-9 overall record, finishing conference play with a 12-4 mark.  The duo mentored two First Team All Conference Players, two Honorable Mention All Conference Players and one All Freshman team member.

The Lexington, Mo. native received his Bachelor of Arts & Science degree in Geography at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
