Saint Francis University Athletics

Andrew Butler joined Saint Francis as the Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach for the Red Flash athletic department in February 2022. His title was changed to the Assistant Director of Athletic Performance June 2022.

He joins the Red Flash after spending for the last year at St. Bonaventure University as an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach, where he worked with Men’s Lacrosse, Men’s/Women’s Rugby, Men’s/Women’s Soccer, and Men’s/Women’s Tennis. During his time at St. Bonaventure, Butler led Men’s Rugby to a National championship and a second overall selection in the MLR draft; With Men’s Lacrosse he guided the team to its first ever MAAC Championship appearance as well as a first-round selection in the PLL draft and 6 picks in the NLL draft making Bonaventure the best represented University in the draft.

Butler has also held athletic performance coaching positions at the University of Kentucky, Eastern Kentucky University, Syracuse University (Football), and Stony Brook University.

He is a 2016 alumnus of Messiah College holding both a Bachelor of Science in Applied Health Science and a Master of Arts in Athletic Leadership from the College
