Zach Morehead

Zach Morehead joined the Red Flash football staff in August 2020 as the tight ends coach.

In 2023, Morehead’s tight end unit helped Saint Francis to 27.2 points per game that led the NEC and 360.1 total yards of offense that ranked third in the conference. The group also assisted an offensive line that paved the way for a conference third-best 168.6 rushing yards per game.
 
Jake Bruno ranked fourth on the team with 132 receiving yards and added 10 receptions and two touchdowns. He scored a touchdown in back-to-back weeks to end the season.

In 2022, Morehead led Saint Francis tight ends to 19 catches for 250 yards and three touchdowns. Hunter Brown also added 10 rushes for 47 yards and one touchdown. The tight ends also assisted an offensive line that allowed 1.08 sacks per game, which ranked 11th in the FCS. 

Saint Francis tight ends accumulated 18 catches for 194 yards and one touchdown in Morehead's first season (2021). The unit also helped in a pass protection that gave up 23 sacks, the third-fewest in the NEC. 
 
Prior to Saint Francis, Morehead spent three years at Gannon University. He most recently served as the offensive line coach since March 2019 after being the tackles and tight ends coach and video coordinator since the summer of 2017.
 
As the offensive line coach, Morehead was responsible for teaching, evaluating and mentoring the offensive linesmen while also aiding them with academic affairs and services. He ran position meetings and film sessions and recruited in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware and New Jersey.
 
As the tackles and tight ends coach and video coordinator, Morehead worked with the tight ends in addition to the offensive line, coming up with position-specific drill work while assisting with the strength and conditioning within the player development program. As the video coordinator, he recruited and taught people how to film and operate cameras and create video highlights in Hudl.
 
Morehead coached individual talent as well as a strong offensive team. He mentored a CoSida Academic First Team selection, All-American selections, CCA Super Region First Team selections and the Harlon Hill runner-up. In 2017, Gannon's rushing offense ranked fourth nationally with 3,061 total yards and 278.3 yards per game while its total offense was 17th nationally with 465.5 yards per game and 38.7 points per game.
 
Morehead earned his bachelor of science degree in sport management with a business minor from California University of Pennsylvania in May 2017. He was a four-year letterman on the offensive line and served as captain his senior season. Morehead was a starter on the NCAA playoff participant, top-five ranked 2016 PSAC Conference Championship team.
 
In the classroom, Morehead was a member of the Dean's List and AD Honor Roll. He was a two-time conference scholar athlete and served on the Leadership Council.
