BROOKLYN, N.Y. (Oct. 13, 2007) – The Saint Francis University women's volleyball team got double-digit kills from four different players to win its second straight Northeast Conference opener, 3-0, at St. Francis-NY on Saturday afternoon.
Juniors
Kristin Buter (Bowie, MD/Bowie) (Bowie, Md. / Bowie) and Keshia Gibbs (Dumfries, Va. / Forest Park) paced all players with 13 kills each in the 30-23, 30-24, 30-17 victory.
Sophomore
Shirley Miller (Fairless Hills, PA/Pennsbury) (Fairless Hills, Pa. / Pennsbury) and freshman
Lindsay Malloy (Gallitzin, Pa./Penn Cambria) (Gallitzin, Pa. / Penn Cambria) had 11 kills each. Buter added 8 digs and 2 aces, while Miller had 7 digs and 2 aces. Sophomore
Rikki Myers (Noblesville, IN/Westfield) (Noblesville, Ind. / Westfield) posted 37 assists.
The Red Flash will continue their weekend road swing with a 2 p.m. Sunday non-conference contest at NJIT. Saint Francis will play host to Long Island and Wagner in NEC action next weekend.
