LEWISBURG, Pa. (Oct. 24, 2007) – The Saint Francis men's soccer team held a 13-9 advantage in shots, but fell victim in a 2-0 defeat in a non-conference contest at Bucknell on Wednesday night.
Conor O'Brien scored the first Bison goal off a header from a free kick at 16 minutes, 9 seconds, and Corey Curnutte tallied the clincher off a penalty kick at 85:07.
Freshman Patrick Fleming (Dunedin, New Zealand / Bayfield) paced the Red Flash attack with four shots, including two on net. Junior goalkeeper Brad Williams (San Lorenzo, CA/Arroyo) (San Lorenzo, Calif. / Arroyo) stopped four shots in net.
Saint Francis failed in its third attempt to get over the .500 mark for the first time on the season. The Red Flash are now 6-7-2 overall and 4-1-1 in the NEC with three home conference matches remaining. They will play in-state rival Robert Morris at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. Saint Francis will then play Mount St. Mary's and Monmouth on Nov. 2 and 4, respectively, at the Stokes Soccer Complex.
