Red Flash down Quinnipiac, 3-1, for NEC win

HAMDEN, Conn. (Oct. 27, 2007) – The Saint Francis University women's volleyball team improved to 3-1 in the Northeast Conference and 9-18 overall as they downed Quinnipiac 3-1 (30-23, 27-30, 30-20, 30-16) on Saturday afternoon.  The home-standing Bobcats fall to 0-3 in the league and 1-24 overall, on the season.

Saint Francis has four players with double-digit kills, including junior Kristin Buter (Bowie, MD/Bowie) (Bowie, Md./Bowie) who led both teams with 19.  Sophomore Shirley Miller (Fairless Hills, PA/Pennsbury) (Fairless Hills, Pa./Pennsbury) fired 15 and junior Keshia Gibbs (Dumfries, Va./Forest Park) and freshman Rachel Capizzi (Saint Louis, Mo./Mehlville) (St. Louis, Mo./Mehlville) each had 10 to round out the Red Flash offensive.

SFU racked up 15 service aces in the win, led by freshman Alexa Ebert (Titusville, PA/Titusville) (Titusville, Pa./Titusville) who had four.

Defensively, freshman Christine Breisch (Edwardsburgh, Mich./Edwardsburgh) (Edwardsburg, Mich./Edwardsburg) had 15 digs, followed by Buter who had 17.  Gibbs also accounted for three of Saint Francis' seven blocked shots.
