(Sept. 27, 2007) – Sophomore Shirley Miller (Fairless Hills, PA/Pennsbury) (Fairless Hills, Pa. / Pennsbury) and junior Kristin Buter (Bowie, MD/Bowie) (Bowie, Md. / Bowie) had 12 kills each, but it wasn't enough as the Saint Francis women's volleyball team fell victim to the University of Baltimore-Maryland 3-0 on Thursday night.
Sophomore Rikki Myers (Noblesville, IN/Westfield) (Noblesville, Ind. / Westfield) pitched in with 25 assists and freshman Christine Breisch (Edwardsburgh, Mich./Edwardsburgh) (Edwardsburg, Mich. / Edwardsburg) added 17 digs in the 22-30, 18-30, 21-30 setback at RAC Arena.
UMBC's Bianca Sande led all players with 14 kills, and Stacey Carroll had 39 assists.
The Red Flash will return to the court on Friday at Maryland-Eastern Shore, to begin a two-day tournament. SFU will play tournament-host UMES at 8 p.m then play Norfolk State (11 a.m.) and Delaware State (3 p.m.) on Saturday. The Red Flash won the tournament last season with a 4-0 record.
