SFU Women’s Volleyball Splits on Day 2 at UMES

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. (Sept. 29, 2007) – Sophomore Shirley Miller (Fairless Hills, PA/Pennsbury) (Fairless Hills, Pa. / Pennsbury) had 15 kills and 3 service aces to lead the Saint Francis women's volleyball team to a 3-0 victory over Norfolk State on Saturday morning.



The Red Flash defeated the Spartans 30-17, 31-33, 30-28, 30-21 in their first match of the day, but dropped a 31-33, 25-30, 25-30 decision against Delaware State to wrap up their trip to the Maryland-Eastern Shore tournament.



Junior Kristin Buter (Bowie, MD/Bowie) (Bowie, Md. / Bowie) had 11 kills and 9 digs in the win over Norfolk State, while freshman Alexa Ebert (Titusville, PA/Titusville) (Titusville, Pa. / Titusville) had 25 assists, and junior Sarah Dougherty (Derwood, MD/Magruder) (Derwood, Md. / Magruder) added 12 digs from her libero position.



Stats were unavailable for the match against Delaware State.



SFU will next play at Coppin State beginning at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
