Red Flash Men’s Basketball Coach Don Friday Announces Addition of Three High School Seniors on National Signing Day

LORETTO, Pa. (Nov. 11, 2009) – Saint Francis University head men's basketball coach Don Friday announced this morning that three highly talented high school seniors have signed national letters of intent to play their college basketball for the Red Flash.

Scott Eatherton (Hershey, Pa. / Hershey), Kyheim Hall (Pocono Mountain East) and Storm Stanley (Lambertville, Mich. / St. Francis de Sales) all signed their national letters of intent on Wednesday morning.

Eatherton is a 6-foot-8, 205-pound center/forward who plays under head coach Tim Bean at Hershey High School. As a junior, Eatherton was a Mid-Penn Second Team All Star and an honorable mention Big-15 selection. He averaged 18 points per game and 9 rebounds per game in leading the Trojans to an overall record of 11-12, and a 10-7 league record. Eatherton also plays for the Advanced Hoops AAU team under head coach Charlie Fortney.

“Scott Eatherton has the ability to make shots,” Friday said. “He's a long, lanky forward who can play facing up to the basket and sit down with his back to the basket. His biggest asset is his rebounding instincts. He has a very good knack for getting his hands on the ball at both ends of the floor. Scott has improved leaps and bounds, and has a successful college work ethic.”

Hall is a 6-foot-3, 210-pound combination guard out of Pocono Mountain East High School, where he played for head coach Patrick Heaton. Hall has scored 750 points and is averaging 15 ppg and 8 rpg during his scholastic career, and was named to the All-Mountain Valley Conference First Team as a junior. He helped Pocono Mountain East advance to the MVC championship game, District 11 Class AAAA final and PIAA playoffs last season, while recording 24-5 record in 2008-09. Hall, who has been back-to-back MVP of the Pocono Mountain East Christmas Tournament, also played AAU for New Heights and S. Carter Elite.

“Kyheim's game will give us a capable scorer who can finish going to the rim or creating for others,” Friday said. “He is a big strong guard who can finish with contact. As he expands his game, he has the chance to be a very exciting college basketball player.”

Stanley is a 6-foot-11, 245-pound center who averaged 12 ppg, 10 rpg and 4 bpg during his junior season at St. Francis de Sales, which is located in Toledo, Ohio. Stanley was a Toledo City League Second Team honoree in 2008-09 under head coach Nick Lowe. He was the team's leading scorer and rebounder, and was named the team's MVP. Stanley helped guide the Knights to an 11-9 overall record as a junior. A member of the National Honor Society, the Teen Institute and Campus Ministry, Stanley also plays for the Ohio Basketball Club under head coach Mike Duncan.

“Storm's addition was very important to our program,” Friday said. “We now have a young man who can be a legitimate back to the basket player as an underclassman in our program. He can score down low, and runs the floor surprisingly well for his size. He should have the great benefit of learning alongside Mislav Jukic (Zagreb, Crotia/Life Center Acadamy). Storm's physical make-up should allow him to transition smoothly to the college game, and allow us to become a much better defensive team in the low post areas.”
