Loretto, Pa. (Aug. 11, 2009) – The Northeast Conference announced last week that it will televise four conference football games in the upcoming 2009 season, and the Red Flash were chosen as one of the teams to take the field in front of the cameras when they clash with in-state rival Robert Morris in Pittsburgh on October 17.
The game, which will be broadcast on FSN Pittsburgh, will have a special 12 p.m. start time and will reach 11 million homes in the Western Pennsylvania region, as well as satellite subscribers with certain sports packages. The game will also be carried on WWCP Fox 8 (Altoona/Johnstown) and Fox Sports College. Fox Sports College will carry all four games.
“We are very pleased to have been selected by the Northeast Conference to have our game against Robert Morris broadcast on Fox Sports,” said Red Flash head coach Dave Opfar. “We hope this will act as a great advertisement for our program as well as the university and the Northeast Conference.”
The Northeast Conference will also have three other games televised: Duquesne at Monmouth on Sept. 19 (12 p.m.), Sacred Heart at Central Connecticut State on Oct. 3 (12 p.m.), and Albany at Wagner on Nov. 21st (1 p.m.)
