Tiller Nets First Career Goal To Lead Flash to 1-0 Win at Howard

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Sept. 27, 2009) – Freshman Wayne Tiller (Magnolia, Del./Caesar Rodney), Jr. (Magnulia, Del. / Caesar Rodney) netted his first career goal to lead the Saint Francis men's soccer team to a 1-0 victory at Howard in the team's final non-conference game of the season.

The Red Flash have won three of their last four games, all by one goal, to improve to 4-5 on the season. They will travel to Central Connecticut State for their Northeast Conference opener at 3 p.m. on Friday. SFU will also face Quinnipiac at Noon on Sunday to complete an eight-match road swing.

Saint Francis broke a scoreless tie in the 57th minute when Tiller found the back of the net. Junior goalkeeper Darius Motazed (North Vancouver, Canada/Sentinel Secondary) (North Vancouver, Canada / Sentinel Secondary) stopped six shots for his second shutout of the year.

The Red Flash held a 12-9 advantage in shots.
